Petición de contribuciones (libro)

Las Medical/Health Humanities [Humanidades Médicas y de la Salud] son un campo interdisciplinar en el que confluyen las Humanidades, las Ciencias Sociales y la Medicina. Con este enfoque, se pretende conocer y abordar la experiencia que tienen las personas con la salud, la enfermedad, la atención y la práctica médica en sí misma desde múltiples perspectivas. 

Con el objetivo de garantizar el acceso a la salud a todas las personas, de derribar las barreras lingüísticas y de proteger los derechos de los ciudadanos con respecto a la información que reciben para gestionar su salud, las nociones de justicia lingüística y social, y equidad en salud se constituyen como elementos fundamentales para ofrecer a la comunidad herramientas informativas y preventivas que se ajusten a sus necesidades. 

Por todo lo anterior, esta obra pretende reunir trabajos de investigación relacionados con las Humanidades médicas o para la salud, en general, y la justicia lingüística y equidad en salud, en particular.

Envíos

Los envíos se deberán realizar a las direcciones de ambas editoras Prof.ª Dra. Covadonga Lamar Prieto (covad@ucr.edu) y Prof.ª Dra. Ingrid Cobos López (icobos@uco.es). 

• Envío de propuestas y bibliografía inicial: 28 de febrero 2026
• Notificación de aceptación: 20 de marzo de 2026
• Envío de manuscritos para su revisión por pares: 30 de mayo de 2026 
• Publicación segundo semestre de 2026

La extensión máxima (incl. tablas, gráficos, bibliografía y anexos) es de 15 páginas. 

Las contribuciones pueden realizarse en español o en inglés. 

Una vez aprobado el resumen, deberá enviar una copia del manuscrito sin información personal en formato .doc(x). Se deben seguir las normas de estilo APA en su última versión.

Cualquier trabajo presentado para su publicación deberá estar libre de restricciones de derechos de autor y no haber sido publicado anteriormente ni encontrarse en proceso de revisión.

Medical/Health Humanities is an interdisciplinary field that brings together the humanities, social sciences, and medicine. This approach aims to understand and address people's experiences with health, illness, care, and medical practice itself from multiple perspectives. 

Intending to guarantee access to healthcare for all, break down language barriers, and protect citizens' rights regarding the information they receive to manage their health, the notions of linguistic and social justice and equity in healthcare are fundamental to providing the community with informative and preventive tools that meet their needs. 

For all these reasons, this work aims to bring together research on the medical or health humanities in general and on linguistic justice and health equity in particular.

Submissions

Submissions should be sent to both editors, Prof. Dr. Covadonga Lamar Prieto (covad@ucr.edu) and Prof. Dr. Ingrid Cobos López (icobos@uco.es).

• Submission of proposals and initial bibliography: February 28, 2026
• Notification of acceptance: March 20, 2026
• Submission of manuscripts for peer review: May 30, 2026
• Publication: second half of 2026 

The maximum length (including tables, graphs, bibliography, and appendices) is 15 pages.

Contributions can be submitted in either Spanish or English.

Once the abstract is approved, send a copy of the manuscript in .doc(x) format, ensuring that it has no personal information. You must adhere to the most recent APA style guidelines.

Any work submitted for publication must be free of copyright restrictions and must not have been previously published or be under review.
