This intensive two-day International Postgraduate Course on the theory of Functional Discourse Grammar is organized during the days preceding the Ninth International Conference on Functional Discourse Grammar (FDG2026) to enable linguists unfamiliar with the theory to prepare for participation in the conference.

The course is organized with graduate students in mind. Participants are asked to read the following text in preparation of the course: Hengeveld, Kees & Mackenzie, J. Lachlan (2010), Functional Discourse Grammar. In: Bernd Heine and Heiko Narrog eds, The Oxford Handbook of Linguistic Analysis. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 367-400. (Second edition 2015). This text will be distributed among the participants before the start of the course. Participation is free of charge.
