The COVID-19 pandemic is a global crisis that has highlighted the importance of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Due to deep inequalities across nations, there have been varying degrees of success in adapting to this unprecedented challenge to the global education system. At present, it is difficult to identify how the pandemic's impact has transformed CALL or to predict the degree of effect this transformation will have on the future of CALL. The predominant debates have looked at attitudes to the pedagogical shifts, but few have looked in-depth at current and expected real-world changes. This special issue will analyze responses to the pandemic in the form of original implementations of CALL. Research papers are expected to focus on stakeholder attitudes, educational transformations, and creative implementation of technology, both short-term and long-term, brought about by the crisis. This Special Issue will provide timely research on COVID-19 effects on education systems consisting of short papers with clear ideas that will be transferable to the journal's international audience. Thus, case studies must be accompanied by prospective CALL changes and approaches with a global impact.

Papers should be between 4000 and 5000 words (no longer), limit the bibliography to 20 items, follow APA 7th Edition and follow the rest of the journals guidelines for publication available at
