Skills and Experience

Applicants for the post must hold an honours degree and should be qualified to a post- graduate level. They must have native or near-native proficiency in the language of the position for which they are applying and also in English. Some language teaching experience, as well as expertise in second language acquisition, second language pedagogy, or technology-assisted language teaching would be a strong advantage. The successful candidate should be capable of high quality teaching up to final year undergraduate level. They must be capable of working in a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Under the direction of a more experienced member of staff, teach undergraduate language modules, with a focus on applied language, linguistics and technology enhanced language learning, and facilitate language learning activities outside the classroom.
- Complete assessment of assignments and feedback both during and outside of teaching semesters.
- Supervise undergraduate dissertations.
- Carry out necessary preparation of teaching and learning activities and materials in collaboration with teaching team.
- Undertake some minor service, engagement and administrative duties assigned by HOS.
- Undertake some CPD to maintain and upgrade skills, primarily outside of teaching semesters.

CPD supports will be provided to the post-holders as appropriate to an early-career staff member, in order to allow them develop their own professional skills.
